So Ji Sub’s Hip Hop Transformation
Actor So Ji Sub is no stranger to rapping for original tracks (as he did for the soundtracks of his movie Rough Cut and his drama Cain and Abel), so it should come as little surprise that he’s doing it again. And there’ll even be a music video accompanying it.
The song, described as being in the “funky hip hop” genre, is titled “Pick-up Line,” and will be released as a digital single in mid-February, along with a music video. A teaser video will be released on the 10th on So’s official website 51K, along with Mnet.
This teaser is in a different style from the video itself, and is described as a comedic version that features guest stars Jung Joon Ha (who is a close friend of So’s) and Kim Byung Man (who has been named one of So’s favourite comedians). The three of them reportedly had a ton of fun filming the teaser, and promise to make viewers laugh with the result.
Another teaser, which will give a better taste of the music video, will be released on Valentine’s Day. The music video itself will be released on the 17th.
In other So Ji Sub-related news: Han Hyo Joo is reportedly in serious talks to star in the film Only You as the female lead. If she ends up signing the papers, she will play a woman who is going blind, and who receives all of boxer So Ji Sub’s undying love.
I can’t say that I’m a big fan of the fact that So Ji Sub has been venturing more and more into music lately (you know what they say about the jack of all trades…), and this project confuses me a little. But I look forward to seeing this comedic teaser thing. It’s been too long since I’ve seen him in something funny. I can’t wait!
