Some 170 personal effects of actor So Ji-sub were sold for charity on Feb. 4 to benefit the Korea Foundation for Persons with Disabilities, the star's agency announced Feb. 7.

At the charity's headquarters in Yeouido, western Seoul, more than 100 members of So's official fan club from Korea and abroad were present to purchase items, most of which were old articles of clothing or shoes, according to the agency.

Young So Sa, as the fan club is known, has been regularly making donations to the organization, and its members took part in volunteer projects.

"We are so glad to have been able to help out those with disabilities alongside So Ji-sub", the head of the fan club said.

Meanwhile last month, So and Han Hyo-joo, who co-starred in the film "Always", saw a screening of the movie in Thailand while attending the first annual Hua Hin International Film Festival.

"Always" is a tragic love story about a down-on-his-luck boxer who falls for a woman who is losing her sight yet still sees the joy in life. It opened in Korea last October.

Dec 21 => HHIFF had a press conference

Dec 23 => SJS Thai FC meeting (events' preparations)

Dec 26 => meeting with Major Cineplex , M-Pictures

Dec 27 => meeting with HHIFF , informing Mr. Sorayuth (TV3)

I made CDs with full of Always + BIFF info and handed out to those parties so that they all got the same intensive info in limited timing.

And showed them my Always making book. Many of them wanted to order as well.

Highlight of discussions

=> Me and Pompam went to ASTA Mag with my CD asking them to publish Always filming in Thailand in January 2012 issue, but it was too late. Then, they asked me to write my experience of Always filming in Thailand in Fan Club section in February 2012 issue instead. We talked about rough schedules informed by M-Pictures and HHIFF. They also advised us to open Always (Thailand) fan page in FaceBook to promote the movie and to be a channel to inform SJS & HHJ schedules before hand to fan clubs.

=> I saw 2012 movie time line of Major Cineplex confirming that Always will be 100% available at Major Cineplex movie theaters on February 2, 2012. By mid of January 20112, they will let me know specific branches to show the movie.

=> At M-Pictures, I got many more details.

M-Picture responsibilities : hold Always press conference

- Jan 24 : SJS+HHJ come to Thailand

- Jan 25 : Always Press Conference + VIP (include FC) movie premier giving away premium with SJS & HHJ autographs

- Big surprise to Mr. Sorayuth (TV3)

NFTFA together with sponsors : hold HHIFF inviting Always movie to join the venue

- Jan 27 : Gala Openning Night @ Inter Continental Hua Hin Resort + movie premier @ Major Cineplex Hua Hin

Press Conference of Hua Hin International Film Festival (HHIFF) on December 21, 2011 @ Bangkok

The National Federation of Thai Film Associations in conjunction with Hua Hin Municipality, Prachuap Khiri Khan province and The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) announced The Hua Hin International Film Festival 2012 which will be held on 26-29th January

at InterContinental Hua Hin Resort, Major Cineplex , Vic Hua Hin and Centennial Park.

In four days over 50 movies will represent both box office and festival hits from ASEAN, Asia, and Hollywood.

A program of industry seminars will focus on inter-ASEAN co-operation

An exhibition will honor the photographic talents of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej

A public event will bring the fun and excitement of the movies to all at Centennial Park.

In the announcement of HUA HIN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL 2012 ( 21 December,2011) Mr.Suwat Liptapanlop, Festival Chairman presented the aims of the festival:

“Hua Hin is a great venue for the festival. Not only is it a popular seaside resort, but it has a great history, having established itself over 100 years ago. It has always been a favorite spot of the Royal Family, and the Klai Kangwon Palace remains a Royal residence to this day. Its film history stretches back to the very birth of the Thai film industry, when a Hollywood crew chose it as a location for the film 'Miss Suwanna of Siam'.

“To recognize the importance of the town, The National Federation of Thai Film Associations has partnered with the Hua Hin Municipality and The Tourism Authority of Thailand to present The Hua Hin International Film Festival 2012 from 26-29th January, 2012.

The festival will also present an opportunity to welcome distinguished international guests, including many film directors and stars. A special event celebrating the contributions of Korean cinema will feature a number of famous Korean stars including the pop idol, Se7ven, Lee Da Hae from 'My Girl' and the stars of 'Always', So Ji Sub and Han Hyu Joo.

The charming seaside town of Hua Hin will offer all our guests a taste of true Thai hospitality.

Over fifty films have been selected to represent those films that have captured the imagination of their respective countries as 'Box Office Hits', or as films which have brought the cultures of their homelands to the attention of the world through film festivals and awards. The Major Cineplex Hua Hin will be the host cinema.

"There are many interesting films, including Asian premieres such as '360' from the USA, films which have broken box office records such as 'KL Gangster' (Malaysia) and 'Fool for Love' (Vietnam), and award-winners such as “Ways of The Sea” (Philippines), as well as films such as 'Warriors of the Rainbow', the most expensive film ever produced in Taiwan, and the official Taiwanese selection for the Academy Awards committee.".

"In celebration of the popularity of Korean cinema in Thailand, we present “Always” the Opening Film of the Busan International Film Festival 2011. We will also bring together films from across the ASEAN region."

"Apart from the films that will be screened at the festival, there will be seminars bringing together leading academics and film industry professionals. There will be a variety of interesting topics such as:

“The festival will bring entertainment to all. Hallyu star So Ji Sub has signed an exclusive contract with a management agency in China, according to a press release from PR firm 3HW on Monday.

3HW announced that So signed with agency ATN Management and officially kicked off his activities by attending the press conference today which was held to celebrate the company's establishment.

"We feel that So is a big star and asset to our company and we hope that he will grow as an actor in the country through his upcoming endeavors," an official with ATN was quoted as saying.

So said in the statement, "I am excited about my upcoming projects under ATN and I hope that I can show my fans in Asia everything that I can do as an actor."

So is one of the most popular actors in Korea and has appeared in numerous TV dramas and movies since his debut in 1996. He became a household name in Korea and Asia with his roles in 2004 hit series "Something Happened in Bali" and "I'm Sorry, I Love You."

He last starred in director Song Il-gon's film "Always" opposite actress Han Hyo-joo which is scheduled to open in Japan, Thailand and Taiwan next year.

On December 15th, the ‘19th Korean Cultural Entertainment Award‘ ceremony was held in Seoul, and awards were handed out to deserving winners under a variety of categories, including ‘Drama’, ‘Movie’, ‘Entertainment’, and ‘Music’.

So Ji Sub's movie "The Salary Man" finished shooting on December 6th.

"The Salary Man" is an action drama that shows a professional killer who was chief of a contract killing company, but suddenly becomes the target and fights against his own colleagues.

The final scene of the movie is of So Ji Sub fighting the last fight with his company. The size and quality of this scene was amazing. Considered as the most important scene of the story, action and emotion burst out together and So Ji Sub had to prepare a lot for this scene.

After the last scene, So Ji Sub said, "I can't believe the shooting's over. I liked the title and the concept of "The Salary Man" so I said 'yes' the moment I read the script. Now I'm a little glad and disappointed the shoot is over. I can't wait to see what it'll turn out like".

Director Im Sang-yoon said, "I am grateful to the staff and actors for helping me complete this movie without any accidents or disasters. There will be new action and a new So Ji Sub in "The Salary Man"".

"The Salary Man" will be released in 2012.

Actor So Ji-sub attended the funeral of 'master' Kim Byeong-man's father.

Kim Byeong-man's father passed away due to a chronic disease. Having supported his father's medical bills for the previous five years, Kim Byeong-man has mentioned his love and affection for his father several times on TV.

On talk shows he said, "My father has Alzheimer's now and he can't even recognize me. I think of him every time something good happens to me, like when I get an award".

Kim Byeong-man is very busy these days with KBS 2's "Free Saturdays – The Birth of a Family" and the SBS 2 drama series "A Christmas Gift", as well as his wedding, scheduled for four months from now.

Meanwhile, the funeral service is currently taking place in Room One of Seoul Yeoeuido Sungmo Hospital and the coffin will be removed on December 7th.

Actor So Ji Sub‘s photo essay book sold out only a month after being released, proving that he is still one of the top Hallyu celebrities today.
His agency 51k remarked, “His photo essays ‘Only You‘ which were released back in October have completely sold out“.

The photos revealed a more down-to-earth side of the actor. They provided still shots of So Ji Sub on set filming his movie ‘Only You’ from beginning to end, including shots of him behind-the-scenes which were reportedly most appealing to fans.

His agency continued, “There were fans that visited Korea from overseas just to get their hands on a photo essay… We’re currently in the process of printing more copies in order to ship them to countries overseas, the first being Japan.”
Meanwhile, So Ji Sub is busy working on his next big project.

Lingerie brand ‘Vivien‘ partnered up with top actor So Ji Sub for their 2012 calendar.

So Ji Sub dressed and posed for the holiday that correlated with each month. Valentines Day in February, White Day in March, Rose Day in May, and the list went on with the other holidays.

In particular, Movie Day in November showed a pictorial of So Ji Sub being close with a big white bear.

Netizens commented on how jealous they were of the white bear saying they wanted to link arms and cuddle with So Ji Sub as well.

A Vivien representative replied, “The So Ji Sub calendar will be available in national department stores. On November 21st, the calendar will be available in Vivien shops on a first come first serve basis”.
